With the election only four short days away, I still haven't made up my mind.
As a member of the G.O.P., I am of course inclined to vote for my candidate, but I am not sure if that is the correct choice. Of course Dems so no, and Reps say of course it is, but I don't know.
I like and respect John Mccain. He has a proven track record, he is well versed in the ways of Washington and most of all, he has the experience to see this country through any threat to our security. But, on the other hand, I'm not sure I like his thoughts on the economy. And, I question his choice of running mates. I really like Sara Palin, she's quirky, cute and funny, but is she ready to lead this country if the worst should happen to Mccain? I don't think so.
Which brings me to Obama. I like him. I was almost as drawn into the Obama-mania as millions of others have been, but managed to stop just short of blind adoration. There is something just the least bit off about Obama. I don't know what it is, can't really put my finger on it. Perhaps it is his Jim Jones ability to work his followers up into a blind and rabid frenzy, or maybe it's his smooth, enticing speech that draws people in. But, one has to wonder if that smoothness hides something inherently evil? Is he the anti-Christ as has been said? Not being a believer in such nonsense, I doubt it very much. But, you have to admit there is something that has caused normally stoic and intelligent people to go absolutely ga-ga over this man. His rallies put me in mind of the Beattle's concerts back in the 60's, with the screaming and the swooning and the crying.
Question now is, do we want a president that is a rock star, and the target of hate mongering, redneck lunatics or do we want one that is subject to kicking off before the end of his term leaving us in the "capable" hands of a soccer mom?
Decisions, decisions.
